Ryan Air - Broken Belt

Getting up at 4am to fly at 6.55 is bad enough, but when you get to the airport in good time (just after 5am), there is no way you expect to have to run for the flight, worrying that you may miss it... But that IS what happened.

If you are familiar with Stansted you will know that zone H has around 20 check in desks and serves mostly Ryan Air flights. On the morning of our flight their baggage belt broke, sending chaos among the airport supervisors, clearly completely inequipped to deal with any incident of this type.

They had asked passengers to form an orderly queue and had begun passing bags manually through to the outsized baggage area. The queue was easily 300-400 passengers long and we waited patiently at the end for at least 15 minutes.

Though soon seeing that there was no organization and knowing it to be unlikely for RyanAir to delay any flights, I decided to DO something. I instigated a Ryan Air Riot LOL, I got my cases and went to the front of the queue, with another family in tow and a few taggers on from our check in desk - and I stormed the front of the queue. Yes people shouted as expected "oi luv, ye canye do that, weve been waiting ages" etc etc.

I just replied "Its called being pro-active, you can wait ages if you like, but your plane won't wait for you, and me personally, im not waiting to miss my flight"

With this we fled to security and blagged our way through the fast track system and sprinted to the gate - just making our flight.

The flight was still delayed an hour as someone else didn't make it and their bags had to be offloaded, but thankfully and very surprisingly our cases did get there with us on same flight this time!

Another Right Royal Ryan Air Mess up!
